"In a beautiful pea-green boat..."

Edward Lear's famous nonsense poem is one of the first poems I can remember. Words like "Bong-Tree" and "runcible spoons" left indelible marks in my memory!
This is an 8 by 10 inch oil, painted happily today! Thanks for stopping by. :)

Owl and Pussy Cat look beautiful as they sail off. I love the shapes and softness in your piece. The colors are fantastic and very whimsical. I love whimsy and this illustration is full of it! Great work

I love this poem, as well as nearly everything else by Edward Lear, so it was a special pleasure to see your lovely illo. The last time I was in my local (otherwise excellent) bookstore, I was trying to find a copy of his complete works for a gift, & was horrified that there was NOTHING there by Lear! What is this world coming to? So glad there are keepers of the flame!
